Something is keeping me away from the kitchen...
Finally a project that I worked for years seems to be realizing. I'm so happy but I'm so busy and my head is everywhere but in the kitchen among my recipes.
The blog will not disappear so if you like you can anyway read it.
I'll miss all you bloggers and readers. Thanks for your support up to here.
Hoping to come back soon

Rome is not for the snow. Snow and cold is not for us. Here we like the sun and the warm temperatures even in January or in February when usually all Europe is icing.
We are not used to snow boots, snow-chains for cars, icy roads. It's not for us and we are not able to cope with similar emergency. Yes, emergency. Becouse for us snow is not regular winter. It's an emergency. In this time of the year our lemon tree is full of fruits. Big, blinding yellow and flavoured lemons hung on the tree that seem to tell you "Come on, take me and make something good!"
So every winter I have lemons and lemons ready to become cakes, tarts, limoncello, limoncello cream and of course jam!
This time I tried for my jam the lemon and ginger combo. Fantastic! Simple things are my favourites. Just like this cake. The combo apple-lemon is a perfect mix. Enjoy it with a cup of good tea, better if is a lemon tea.And if you are a big chef or if you are a beginner in cook and baking you will like this recipe. Simple, fast, flavoured, not fat and really delicious!

I guess I'm in lethargy. I wake up in the morning but I sleep until noon. I am all day tired and confused. I feel like my head is completely empty. No ideas, no arguments, no too long speeches (well, no speeches at all). So my blog too is in winter lethargy. Please be patient.
I need some warm temperatures and sun. These days newspapers, blogs and web sites are full of recipes with "diets after holidays". So many different diets soon after so many different holidays recipes.
It's crazy! First they pushed us to "cook and eat" and now they push to the reverse: "stop and diet". Well, they feel mi like a robot, a machine that follow the web world orders. To begin a new years together.........let's tart!
If you read me you already know: tarts are my love. I have a different tart for each season, one for each month, one for each party or birthday or special holiday. With some homemade jam, with cream and fruit or in gluten free version (go for a visit on my "crostate" label and you'll see all them!)

More one day and this 2011 will be over. Please let me say finally.
The year 2011 will be for ever on my mind as one of the worst of the last 10 years. Exhausting, stressfull, disappointing, inconclusive. And let's stop here.
Nevertheless my horoscope for 2011 have had good weather for my sign. May be it's time to change my zodiac sign. Or read no more horoscopes.

Most of my recipes are measured by grams (g) and milliliters (ml). Accurates.
But what I really like are recipes in some alternatives measures. I'm in love with tbsp (tablespoons), cups and glasses recipes.
I don't need the balance. I don't need the exact gram. I don't need to be the perfect women who I am not. Recipes are more simples and anybody can make them, even Lidia http://www.blogger.com/profile/08782232893912142249noreply@blogger.com8tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-2831670922387797930.post-40215057332592954852011-11-21T23:00:00.000+00:002011-11-22T11:00:52.687+00:00Hazelnuts and choco cake
As soon as people know about my cooking passion they always ask me why I cook.
And always I really don't know what could be the answer. The exact answer I mean.
I could say becouse I live with an "always hungry man" and I need to cook.
I could say becouse since I was a little girl I sow my mother cook and bake for a lot of people (relatives and friends) for Holidays, Lidia http://www.blogger.com/profile/08782232893912142249noreply@blogger.com13tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-2831670922387797930.post-25622080720337802112011-11-17T15:37:00.000+00:002011-11-17T15:37:41.189+00:00Let's soup! Bean and black cabbage soup
Can you remember Mafalda? So funny little girl. Her mother every day cooked her a soup but she hated soups. And "I hate soup!" was Mafalda cry every day. What I real did not immagine was that on Facebook there is the "Mafalda Hates Soup" Group.
For sure she would hate this soup too!
But you should try it. When the days become cooler and the air more chilly, my breakfast become more strong.
My wake up cup of tea become a cup of hot milk, usually chocolate milk. And my light toast become a traditional breakfast cake. My best are with fresh and dried fruits, a good quantity of eggs and sugar. Definitly, I need something that I cuddly and that fill my stomach.

When I was a little girl I knew about Halloween Party on television, around american movies. It was something so far from my life that I thought it was just an american business.
Never never never I could immagine that in a few years even here in Italy on the evening of October 31st some boy could knock on my door and ask me: "trick or treat?"

I need more time. I want more time. More time to cook, more time to spend in my blog and around blogs I like.
What can I do with a new kitchen if I have no time to spend in it?
And what can I do with a new house if I go out very soon in the morning and come back late in the evening? A new house just to sleep? I don't need it, thanks.
